Description
Reduced weight safety selector spring for the Springfield Kuna. This spring will reduce the safety selector operation weight by approximately 15% with respect to the factory Kuna spring. We tested many different spring rates/designs in the Kuna selector assembly and found this to be the sweet spot for firm tactile operation without being overly stiff or difficult to use. This spring is a drop in replacement for the factory spring and can be used with the original selectors, or paired up with any combination of our machined selectors for the Kuna. Our springs are manufactured from stainless spring steel for smooth operation and a lifetime of corrosion resistance and maintenance free service.

Easy to install.Such an improvement for 5 bucks. I have arthritis in my thumbs and the stock safety spring was so painful to operate. I have been using HBI products for years and was never let down.

The stock selector was stiff. You could always cut the stock spring down, but for the price I figured why not grab this and have the stock spring on hand as a spare. The difference is immediately noticable. It’s well worth it.

As always, superb HBI product. I like my safety selector being more on the stiff side, over loose. I was a bit hesitant on changing the OEM spring but I have so many HBI products that I figured I’d try it. Easy install if you follow the video and it’s the absolute perfect tension on the selector. Not as stiff, but far from loose. Highly recommend.

I didn’t think this would make much difference but after installing it, I’d say it’s definitely a worthwhile upgrade, especially for the price.
Flicking the safety on and off is now much easier and reliably operated every time with one finger. Especially flipping the safety back on.

Definitely one of the first things anyone would point out as a negative on the Kuna when first handling it was how tight the safety selector was to move. Switching it to fire from safe isn’t a huge deal since you have that leverage to push down with the thumb, but switching it to safe was actually a bit annoying. This reduced weight spring makes a huge difference, and at $5, why wouldn’t you get it? HB Industries makes a whole lot of great upgrades for the Kuna, might as well throw this into the shopping cart while you’re at it!
